"Wilson Chin's set for the Hartford Stage production reflects the play's layered reality. A huge multi-paned window, tilted towards the sky, dominates the sparsely furnished living area of a New York apartment. Sometimes it frames a geometric cityscape silhouetted against an angry red sky. Sometimes Traci Klainer's subtle lighting turns the window into a mirror reflecting the action below it. And ultimately the skyline is revealed to be constructed of piles of cardboard boxes."– Chris Rohmann, Valley Advocate "In retrospect, Lincoln Center's reductionist revolving set is simplistic to a fault compared to Wilson Chin's surprisingly clever set design, which is abetted by Traci Klainer's lighting."– Susan Hood, Hartford Courant |
